Alagarkoil is not a very less known place from Madurai. It is one of the 108 Divyadeshams of Lord Vishnu. He comes to Madurai every year to witness the celestial wedding of Lord Meenakshi but returns after getting a sage out of his Frog appearance due to curse.

Below are the pictures that I took there.

The welcome arch :


These white color thing are thermocoal paint coatings to save the devotees' feet from burning due to hot Sun. They really gave a cooling effect even in midnoon.


Tower of the Temple of the "18aam padi Karupanna swamy" who is the guardian of the main diety of the Lord Vishnu.


The main temple where the Lord resides.


The temple tank that was renovated a few days back (It is called "Narayananvaavi Teppakulam"). Extreme hot summer and hence the tank is dry.
