Today, I went to the ELCOT SEZ at Ilandhaikulam and got the following updates.

* 2 companies are currently functioning in the built up space. They are Galaxy Weblinks and AMBC Technologies. Both are running at close to 50 headcount totally. Galaxy is yet to finish their recruitment.

Here is the related information.
Galaxy Weblinks Ltd.
Elcot IT Park,
Illanthai Kulam, Near Pandi Kovil,
Madurai - 625 020.
Tamilnadu, India

ELCOT IT Park, Ilandhaikulam IT SEZ Building, 1st Floor, Madurai – 625020, Tamilnadu

* One more company by name 'Sai BPO Services' will start their 24/7 operations soon with a headcount of 150 per batch i.e. 450 in total. They have already taken up their space and they are working on the interiors. I saw the place getting ready personally.

Now, only around 25 to 30 percent of IT space is lying vacant in the first floor.

Second floor is still unoccupied.

* Honeywell's development center construction in ELCOT is in final stages.

The building exterior is almost over and I do not know about the interiors.

According to our sources, the total building would be open for occupation by April-May.

Here are the pictures.

Slowly, but steadily and stably our "Madurai" can win the race. Hopeful to see our city emerging as a good and preferred destination in the IT & ITES sector, with more and more firms coming in , establishing themselves , providing employment to our youth and enriching themselves and this city/ society. only if the SG is a little more purposeful and enabling to our needs, there is certainly good scope for growth. btw sweet news is that Mr. Alagiri, is not contesting from Madurai. Whatever little demands he has fulfilled as an M.P of Madurai Lok Sabha constituency, is all shattered in his demanding the preposterous, populist slogan of naming the Madurai Airport after "PMT" Airport. How idiotic and meaningless, isn't?Whatever you call, is it going to develop/ expand any more? any By naming it so, he is only igniting the communal hatred fire again and that would be a colossal disservice to this city. one only hopes his political career eclipses permanently, getting rid of Madurai. to put simply "Nallathu thaan seyyala , ked : firing: huthal seyyama othungikalaam, athuve romba nalluthunga" .http://allaboutmadurai.com/posting.php? ... =6&p=11237#

Perhaps the first and foremost service Mr. Alagiri can do to Madurai , is to eradicate the rampant self-praising poster/ bills sticking culture defiling the city and uproot the menace of planting vinyl/ flex boards by his so-called "loyalists". It is a relief atlast he realised and appealed to his supporters to avoid poster sticking. A leader's stature is adjudged only by the good deeds he did to his constituency/ people and not by the influence and power-wielding. When are they all going to realise at all?

Nice to see more and more it/ ites firms coming up.devoid and even deprived of any promotions unlike in Chennai / Kovai IT parks, by the SG/CG , these ventures growing by their own strength , is really commendable. wish them grow and prosper and bringing glory to our Madurai.thanks for the IT scenario update.
